Better Auth provides authentication infrastructure for web applications.
Authentication sounds simple until you start thinking about password resets, social logins, account security, sessions, passkeys, and single sign on.
This is not an area where I particularly want a developer saying that they built the whole thing from scratch over the weekend.
Using an established framework can save time and reduce unnecessary custom work.
That does not remove responsibility. Authentication is security critical and still needs competent configuration and review.
Pros
Speeds development. Supports modern login methods. Reduces unnecessary custom authentication work.
Cons
Security still requires expertise. A framework is not a magic shield.
My take
Sensible infrastructure for something that absolutely needs to work correctly.
