Cap Review: Sometimes Showing Someone Is Faster Than Explaining It

Cap is a straightforward screen recording tool.

That may not sound exciting, but screen recording is one of those things you do not realize you need until you start using it regularly.

Instead of writing a long explanation about which button to click, you can simply show the person.

That works for technical support, feedback, internal updates, and client communication.

The only problem is that people abuse screen recordings. Nobody wants a twelve minute video explaining something that could have been one sentence.

Pros

Fast. Simple. Useful for communication that is easier to demonstrate visually.

Cons

Video is harder to skim than text, and long recordings can waste time.

My take

Very useful when showing something really is faster than describing it.
