Collrs Review: Useful Design Help, but It Cannot Give Your Brand a Personality

Collrs helps designers create and organize color palettes.

That sounds minor until several people are independently creating materials for the same company and somehow the brand now has fourteen slightly different shades of blue.

A palette tool can help keep those choices consistent and make the handoff between designers and developers cleaner.

What it cannot do is decide what a brand should mean.

Attractive colors are easy. A visual identity that feels distinctive and appropriate is much harder.

Pros

Fast palette creation. Helpful for design systems. Can improve consistency.

Cons

It does not replace taste, positioning, or brand strategy.

My take

Useful design utility. Human judgment still matters far more than the color generator.
