Viktor Review: For the Company Where One Important Tool Is Still a Python Script

Every company eventually develops some strange internal process that depends on one employee and one mysterious script or spreadsheet.

Viktor is interesting because it helps engineers turn Python based tools into web applications that other people can actually use.

That can make internal calculations, engineering models, and workflows far more accessible.

The key is having a real reason to build the application. Not every script needs a user interface and not every spreadsheet needs to become software.

But when a technical tool already matters to the business and only a few people can use it, giving it a proper interface can be a major improvement.

Pros

Makes technical tools easier to share. Useful for internal automation. Can replace awkward manual workflows.

Cons

Not every internal script deserves to become an application.

My take

Very useful when the underlying tool already provides real business value and simply needs a better way for people to use it.
